500 Days of Yoga (Oct 1, 2009 - Feb 17, 2011)
You may well ask yourself why I have chosen to do a daily yoga blog for 500 days.
Firstly, I am committing to a daily blog for myself - I am ready to take my own practice to the next level, to really explore the nooks and crannies of yoga. I have been practicing for over 12 years and have grown in myriad ways; I want to share the next part of my journey in a more public forum.
Secondly - the time choice? 500 days was perfect - at the end I will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the day I fell in love with my husband, Tom, on a clear, crisp Dublin day. Love is like yoga in many ways; every day is a practice; it is always a journey; and you can never consider yourself a "master".
So now you know the why. Next you might wonder about the what.
A daily blog, it may resemble a diary some days, other days, I may be a teacher or philosopher. I have no agenda, no predetermined path to follow; I want to share what happens on the mat each day, or how a particular pose on the mat changes my experience off the mat. I am open to suggestions, questions and feedback; in fact, it may be a lonely journey without these.
And finally you may question who...Who am I and why should you spend even a breath reading anything I have to say?
I am 43, a wife and mother of 4, and yoga has changed my life. It has gifted me with joy and abundance in ways I could not have dreamed possible and if one person can find that bliss, either through yoga or through these pages, I will have done good work.
